Your first build: crawl export triage
You supply the data, Claude does the reading, and you make the calls.
- Export a crawl from a tool like Screaming Frog.
- Give Claude the file, or a tool to query it, plus Search Console data for the same pages.
- Ask it to group issues by type and rank them by how many important pages each one affects.
- Ask for a short fix list with the evidence behind each item.
- Spot-check three items yourself before you share the list.
When that works reliably, try the same thing through MCP so Claude can fetch fresh data itself instead of you uploading files.
Mistakes to avoid
- Give it data, not just a question. Without your real numbers, any model will fill gaps with plausible guesses.
- Keep MCP connections read-only at first. Write access to your CMS is a big step.
- Big files cost more. Filter down to the rows and columns that matter.
- Save your best instructions as a reusable project or prompt so results stay consistent.
